  1. This looks like a good one. I can't wait to see what this author thinks of the Gold Key run of Star Trek comics. For me the best Star Trek run was DC. They always had solid writers and story lines that kept me interested each and every month.

When Marvel got the rights for Star Trek back in 1979 or 80' I was glad because the adaptation of Star Trek: The Motion Picture was better than the movie itself. However that all ended when they weren't given permission to use any material that took place during the original series. The story that stopped me from collecting Trek Marvel comics was the haunted house in outer space story. From that story on it went all down hill. From the covers I could tell where the book was going....covers with "Spock: The Barbarian" and another one where the crew of the Enterprise meets the devil. It didn't capture the spirit of the movie or the chemistry behind the characters at all.

Years later Marvel did get the rights for Star Trek again and had some pretty decent books. However I'll the ones from the 70's and 80's were not the best the series had to offer.
